한국외국어대학교 외국인유학생종합지원센터에서는 24-1학기부터 HUFS Global Mentoring 프로그램 [고향 친구] 멘토 - 멘티를 운영합니다. 한국외대 외국인 유학생이면 누구나 프로그램의 멘토 혹은 멘티로 지원할 수 있으며, 학사 정보부터 대학 생활 정보까지 다양한 정보를 제공해 줄 수 있는 멘토와 다양한 정보를 얻고자 하는 멘티 외국인 유학생의 많은 관심과 지원 부탁드립니다. 아래 모집 정보를 참고하여 멘토, 멘티 신청서를 제출해 주시기 바랍니다.
지원대상 : 외국인 전형으로 입학한 학과(부) 소속 외국인 유학생
모집기간 : 2024년 4월 4일부터 4월 15일까지 멘토 00명, 멘티 00명(선착순 모집)
활동내용 - 학기별 수시 활동(최소 2주 1번 미팅, 비대면(ZOOM 등) 활동 가능) - 활동 전 활동계획서 등 서류 제출. 선발된 멘토가 훕스어빌리티에 탑재한 학습계획서 토대로 학업 및 상담 상황 지속 관리 - 활동 종료 시점, 멘토가 최종 결과보고서, 만족도 설문조사 등을 훕스어빌리티에 업로 드
멘토자격 - 학업성적 우수(직전학기 평점평균 3.0 이상)한 자 - 외국인 유학생과의 의사소통 가능자 - 외국인 유학생 멘토 우선 선발(*내국인 학생 차순위 선발)
멘티자격 - 외국인 전형으로 입학한 학과(부) 소속 재학생 - 대학 생활 만족도를 높이고 싶은 학생
멘토역할 - 격주 1회 멘티 학생과 정기적 미팅(학기 중 총 8회) - 기본적인 학사 안내 - 전반적인 대학 생활 고충 상담 - 중간, 기말, 졸업 시험 대비 멘토링 - 훕스어빌리티 학기초 학습계획서 및 학기말 결과보고서, 만족도 조사 업로드
멘토링 장학금 - 프로그램 참여 멘토에게 소정의 장학금 50만원 지급 - 주차별 활동일지, 학기말 최종 결과보고서, 만족도 조사 결과를 완벽하게 작성하고 활 동한 멘토에게만 장학금 지급 - 멘토 중 베스트 멘토(멘토 인원의 20%) 선발하여 추가 장학금 지급
멘토링 프로그램 팀 결성 - 외국인유학생종합지원센터에서 멘토 및 멘티 서류 접수 후 “같은 나라”출신 외국인 유학생 끼리 멘토링 프로그램 팀 조합 진행 - “같은 나라”출신으로 매칭이 안 될 경우, 내국인 멘토 – 외국인 유학생 멘티 진행

The HUFS International Student Support Center would like to introduce its newest program of the semester: HUFS Global Mentoring. Any HUFS international student interested in providing knowledge and learning about life in HUFS can apply for the program. See below for detailed information before applying. The Center awaits your participation.
Who can apply: International students in HUFS
When to apply: From April 4 to 15, 2024 Only a certain number of applicants to be accepted in order of application
What to do: * Mentors and Mentees meet a set number of times during the semester (minimum once every two weeks / online activities including social media also possible) * Before the mentoring begins, the Mentor uploads their mentoring plan on HUFSAbility, through which the ISSC will supervise the mentoring process * After the mentoring is over, the Mentor uploads a final report and satisfaction survey results on HUFSAbility, which will later be used as track record of ISSC mentoring and counseling
Requirements for Mentors: * Must have a good grade (previous semester’s GPA should be 3.0 or above) * Must be able to communicate with international students * International students have priority over Korean students in being selected as Mentors
Requirements for Mentees: * Must be an undergraduate and graduate international student (Exchange students cannot apply) * Must look for a more satisfactory life in HUFS
Role of Mentors: * Have regular meetings with their Mentee (Eight times during whole semester) * Provide basic knowledge on academic affairs * Give counsel on overall life in HUFS * Offer mentoring to prepare Mentees for exams, e.g. midterms, finals, and graduation exams * Upload a mentoring plan, a final report and satisfaction survey results on HUFSAbility before and after the mentoring, respectively
Scholarship for Mentors: * To be eligible for scholarship, Mentors have to prepare a proper weekly progress journal, end-of-semester final report, and satisfaction survey results * Mentors will receive a scholarship of ￦500,000 * 20% of the Mentors will be selected as “Best Mentors”and receive additional scholarship
Matching Mentors-Mentees for program: * The ISSC will match Mentors and Mentees from a same country as a team * If there are no suitable applicants, ISSC will match a Korean Mentor with an international Mentee
