Good morning. It’s so nice to meet you all.

I’m Sohun Ahn from General Tesol class and I am very honored to speak on behalf of my fellow graduates. Thank you for coming all the way to Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. Our school is a little far away, but it has such a beautiful campus. After the ceremony, I think it would be good to take a look around the campus. On this beautiful campus, we all studied the tesol course hard for four months and finally completed it. So congratulations to us!

I wanted to be an English teacher because I just love English.

But I didn＇t graduate from the English education department, so I wanted to learn more about English education and start my career. The Tesol course is conducted in dozens of schools if you search on the Internet. The reason why I chose Hankuk University of Foreign Studies is that I can feel the expertise from the name of the school. In addition, the Tesol of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies is the most famous certificate that everyone knows, and if you look at the reviews on Naver blog, they all say that the course was fun and they learned a lot even though the course is kind of tough.

The Tesol course consists of six subjects. Scott’s tels, andrew’s multimedia and material, edward’s materials development, james’s tesol methodology, merrilee’s testing. Every subject required us different assignments every week.

In fact, when I had more than five assignments a week, I thought I would give up a little. It was more difficult because I felt the burden of submitting my assignment completely while commuting for more than 4 hours. But there were people who gave me strength and courage whenever I had negative thoughts like giving up the course or giving up my assignment.

First, Tesol’s course professors always gave me the strength to stand up and move on to my next assignment. Scott always gave me positive feedback and he made me so happy with his fun class. I always waited for Wednesday for his TELS class. I can assure you that you can learn a really effective way to teach english. Andrew taught me various skills such as video editing and voice editing so that students can learn English in various ways. I used that skill to my cousins and they really loved it. Edward always answered my questions kindly, read my long and dense lesson plan carefully, and gave me kind feedback. In fact, it was really hard to write a lot of lesson plans. I had to write carefully from beginning to end, but there were a few moments when I almost gave up because I had to change my lesson plan so many times. But every time I did that, I asked edward for help and he comforted me so warmly and gave me a lot of specific feedback that I was able to go further and make perfect results.

James always carried out the class with passion and excitement. There were many times when I was very tired of commuting to school for 4 hours, but every Monday when I took James＇ class was always so fun and I lost track of time. He always gave me warm advice to make me a better teacher.

I Think merrilee is probably the best teacher in the world among those who teach the testing subject. The testing subject is not easy because you can get really confused between distinguishing validity and reliability. So, I had a hard time and asked a lot of questions. She explained all the concepts so easily that whenever I asked and repeated them constantly so I could understand them.

I also want to say thank you to all the staff at the Tesol Education Center. I asked a lot of questions and asked a lot of prints, and they were so kind to me every time and hosted various events, so I was able to get a lot of help. Thank you.

Lastly, thank you to my classmates. I think we were able to complete the course successfully because we always encouraged each other in every difficult moment. You always surprised and inspired me with a lot of ideas and your endless efforts in the course. Thank you for building such a great rapport in our class. I am so happy that I met all of you guys and have this special bonding relationship with you. I want to especially thank Eunhye and Yeji who always helped and encouraged me for 16 weeks and I strongly believe that this TESOL course will be a great help to our future.
