제 4회 모의 아시아 총회

아시아경제공동체포럼 (Asia Economic Community Forum)이 주관하고 인천시와 외교통상부의 후원을 받는 제 4회 모의 아시아 연합 총회(Model Asian Union) 대학(원)생 참가자를 모집합니다. 모의 아시아 연합 총회는 국내외 대학(원)생 참가자들이 2인 1팀으로 참가 신청하여 등록 이후 제출하는 제안서와 본 대회에서의 프레젠테이션을 바탕으로 경쟁하는 대회로써, 국문, 영문의 두 리그로 진행되며 각 리그에서 별도의 심사와 시상이 이루어 집니다. 각 리그는 총 16팀으로 구성되며, 각 팀들은 1회의 예선 라운드 발표를 거쳐 제안서와 합산된 점수가 가장 높은 상위 네 팀이 결승에 진출하게 됩니다. 각 리그의 우승 팀에게는 외교통상부장관상을, 2등 팀에게는 인천광역시장상 (미정)을 수여합니다. 각 팀의 제안서와 프레젠테이션은 창의력, 논리력 등을 통해 심사되며, 미래의 아시아 지도자로써 아직 창설되지 않은 아시아 연합의 미래를 그려보는 유익한 계기가 될 것입니다.

○ 참가 자격 & 참가 방법
아시아 연합 창설에 관심이 있는 모든 국내외 대학(원)생이 참가 대상자이며, 소속에 관계 없이 자유로이 2인 1조로 팀을 구성해 국문/영문 리그 중 선택해서 참가 신청을 해야 합니다. 제안서는 지정된 기간 내에 제출하며, 이를 기반으로 본선 대회에서 발표 및 토의를 통해 경쟁하게 됩니다. 또한, 제안서는 국문/영문 중 선택한 리그에 알맞게 제출을 하여야 합니다. 제안서 주제는 아래를 참고하시기 바랍니다.

○ 제안서 및 프레젠테이션 주제
1. 아시아 연합의 가입 자격 요건
-> 가입국의 자격 요건(지역, 가치, 경제 상황 등)을 정하고 이에 대한 논거를 서술하시오.
-> 통합될 지역의 범위를 구체적으로 정하시오. 중앙, 동북, 남, 동남 (ASEAN), 오스트레일리아, 뉴질랜드, 러시아 등의 지역이 모두 포함되어야 할지 혹은 일부만 통합되어야 할지 설정하고, 이에 대한 논거를 서술하시오.
2. 아시아 연합의 구조
-> 아시아 연합의 리더를 정하는 기준은 무엇이 될지 서술하시오.
-> 아시아 연합의 의사 결정 기관과 구조를 정하고, 각 기관의 기능과 의의를 설명하시오.
3. 아시아 연합의 필요와 실현 가능성
-> 아시아 연합의 필요성과, 어떤 이유에서 실현이 가능한지를 논하시오.

참가비 입금: 참가등록 시로부터 24시간 이내

* 참가 등록으로부터 24시간 이내에 참가비 입금이 되지 않을 경우 참가가 취소됩니다.
* 참가자가 모집되는 대로 등록을 마감합니다. 참가비는 환불이 불가합니다.

* 제안서는 참가 등록시 함께 제출할 수 있으며, 28일 이후 제출시 시상에 불이익이 있을 수 있습니다.
* 참가자들에게는 본 대회 기간 동안 무료 숙식이 제공되며, 대회가 끝난 후 수료증을 제공합니다.

The 4^th Model Asian Union, hosted by the AECF (Asia Economic Community Forum) and supported by the city of Incheon and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, invites undergraduate and graduate school students from around the world! The Model Asian Union is a presentation-based competition that requires participating teams (consisted of two people per team) to present their ideas regarding a possible Model Asian Union with the submitted proposal papers as their base. Two different leagues of English and Korean will be held where the participants in the two leagues will be evaluated and rewarded separately. Total of 16 teams per league will be invited to Incheon to share their ideas for one round of preliminary presentation and subsequently the Finals. The winning team from each league will be rewarded by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the runner-up by the Mayor of the Incheon Metropolitan City (subjected to change). The 4^th Model Asian Union will provide a venue where the participants’ opinions about various issues regarding the formation of the Asian Union, as well as the economic, political, and cultural cooperation and integration among the Asian nations will be presented.

  In total: 6 million won

1^st place: Award by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, prize money: 2,000,000 won

2^nd place: Award by the Mayor of the Incheon Metropolitan City, prize money: 1,000,000 won

 

○ How to apply

All college and graduate school students from around the world are eligible for application. Two participants, who may differ in their respective institution, must form a team to choose either the English or Korean league to compete in. Participants should submit proposal papers on the following three topics during the designated period, which is the basis of presentation and discussion during the competition. Also, the proposal paper should be submitted appropriately according to the choice among English or Korean league.

1.       Membership of the Asian Union

-> What would be the criteria (region, value, economic status) of selection for nations that want membership? Explain your rationale.

Region (Central, northeast, south, southeast (ASEAN), Australia, New Zealand – would you integrate some or all? Explain why)

2.       Structure of the Asian Union

-> How would we select the leader of the Asian Union?

-> Create a set of institutions of the Asian Union and explain your rationale, as well as the institutions’ individual purpose.

3.       Needs and Feasibility

-> Describe why we need an Asian Union as well as how it will be feasible between the member states.

Registration Period: Sep. 20 – Oct. 10

Proposal Paper Deadline: Oct. 20 (Teams may submit the paper prior to Oct. 20, starting from Sep. 20)

Payment of registration fee: within 24 hours after the registration. Note that those who fail to finalize the payment in a timely manner shall be disqualified and will be required to register again.
