I spent my third semester at“programa de pós-graduação em economia - UFRGS(Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul)”which located in Porto Alegre, state of Rio Grande do Sul in 2010, a help of 3+1 Dispatch Students.

Rio Grande do Sul has lot of white people because lot of European flowed in this area in 19th century. This region has its own characteristics such asthere are lots of beautiful women and weather is more humid and cold in winter than the other parts of Brazil. They produce wine too, and the market is the 3rd largest in the world. They also use their own regional dialect and call themselves as 'Gaucho'. This place has some famous private university and university of federal.We can say that this city is 'City of Education'.         

Actually it was quiet burdened for me, because I had to take economic class in Portuguese. But Brazil had no racism and my school friends rather gave me help to get through in economic class, language problem and culture of Brazil.

 In Brazil there's not many of graduate school of university of federal.So, lot of student gathered at this school. It was like diversity of Brazil. I also thought there were many African as if America gives scholarship to talented foreign students to foster pro American.

Students who are able to afford to pay this school are highly well educated. So, they were well known about Korea’s economic growth and interested about it. Some class used a book written by professor Ha-joon Jang.

 It was enormous experience to study at this region because I study and research about this region. A semester in Brazil was short but precious and gave me learning experience and sweet memory.

I hope a lot of student from our school get benefit from this program and experience various things and get help academically.
