When I first applied to KOTRA Internship and was granted to be sent, on the several route I could get various (but general) information about the KBC(Korea Business Center) such as KOTRA main homepage, ex-intern’s reports etc. So I could be proud of myself. But, in fact, Venezuela Caracas KBC, which I was going to be sent, was not the one that I expected and applied before. First of all, I needed to change my entire plan that I had made for the previously expected KBC. Also Caracas KBC was never had received intern before. That was another burden for me to make good impression to them that I’m representing for my graduate school and my university. And the worst thing I was worried(Actually, my parents do worry enough) was their security. On newspaper articles are pouring out about the situation of Venezuela.

In my personal opinion also, their decision maker’s choices don’t work extremely good job on the macroeconomic aspect. Like this declining economic graphs effects on their life to be illegal. Venezuelans are still dying at this moment by homicide for stealing just one Blackberry at 1 o’clock in the afternoon. The economic condition changes definitions of murder, dead and killing.

Maybe it’s not pretty idea living in Caracas, especially as an Asian people, which has an awkward-looking face to them. Maybe someone who was robbed by Barrio(Slum) juvenile man could be me. However, as an international study working student, it could be another study that needs to be dominated for us. We always need to understand their behavior. If I start to avoid Venezuela’s entire living styles by ‘one’ problem, security – which almost of Latin American countries have -, I’m going to miss entire Latin America. For Venezuelans, instable but chronic security problem is already one of their each day. It could be enjoyable Caracas life if we are able to try to understand their situation and be careful on optimal level.

It’s just 2 months to get back here at my hometown. And I can say my last 6 months were ‘NOT BAD’? No, actually, they were ‘TERRIFIC’. Now I have many Venezuelan friends in Caracas. There are so many heart-warmers in that city. I can recommend you some. Opening heart could help receiving many things from them in short period. It doesn’t matter at all whether they are reaches or not. And you can share your thinking and opinion with them. That’s why we are here for studying. Am I right?
