도로의 교통표지판이 길을 잃지 않게 하듯이, 강의 중에서 방향을 짚어줄 수 있는 단서가 되는 문구를 제시하신다면 강의내용이 좀 더 명확해집니다. 교수님께서 주제를 도입할 때 일반적으로 개요를 말하고, 그 다음 상세내용을 설명한다면 강의가 훨씬 더 명확해 집니다. 다음과 같은 예제는 강의 시작에 사용할 수 있습니다.

- Use specific examples, personal stories, popular culture, news, etc.

가능한 한 자주 구체적인 예를 들어줍니다. 학생들 자신의 경험과 관계된 친숙한 예를 사용하시면 더욱 좋습니다.

- Keep lines of communication open.

교수님과 학생 간에 커뮤니케이션이 잘 안될 때가 있습니다. 학생들이 질문을 이해하지 못할 때에는 학생들에게 다른 용어를 사용하여 다시 질문해보시기 바랍니다. 또한 학생들에게 구체적인 예를 제시함으로써 질문에 대한 학생의 이해를 도울 수 있습니다.
