M y university gave an opportunity to take a semester course in India to step forward for my dream. My dream is acting as a key person to connect South Asia & Republic of Korea to revitalize diplomatic relationship as well as contribute to expand business scale and economic corporation. Therefore, in this time, I was planning to utilize this course to collect data for my thesis, take a field interview to acknowledge current knowledge, to meet old friend and study Hindi again while forgotten in the military service. Aforementioned reasons led me to take semester course in India.

On August, 2014, I went India again and it’s been 2 year 9 months for the last visit in India and it’s been 4 years to stay in Delhi. One of the best Indian friends came to the airport to pick me up. Fortunately, I didn’t have much issue to find a place to stay through the old friends. To take lease agreement in the apartment need minimum 11 months, so, I stayed ‘paying guest house’ for the alternatives. Per room, 2 persons stayed, 4 times a day, vegetarian food was served and washing clothe and ironing was conducted with bearable payment. I was the only foreigner in the paying guest house; therefore, the condition helped me to improve Hindi in speaking and listening part.

I took the course with the undergraduate students who have Hindi major from Seoul and Yongin campus and Busan University of Foreign Studies. I was the only graduate student in the entire course, so Professor Ramesh Chand Sharma gave any notification and direction through me.

The course was composed into 3 classes. First and Second class is conducted by Hindi (language course) and last class, professors from different department took guest lecture.

As I had a bit of pressure to learn overview of South Asia apart from the class itself, I took several interviews. I met dean of Delhi school of economics to know the status about outstanding students in master and Ph.D to understand the future career after the enormous University (educational status) and met H.E. Korean Ambassador, 1st secretary in Korean Embassy, India and political advisor for H.E. Korean Ambassador in Nepal to know diplomatic relation between India, Nepal and South Korea. To know actual fact in pharmaceutical sector (in the various journals and articles used to describe that India has high potential to grow in pharmaceutical sector including market launch from foreign company), I met managing director of LG sciences India. Also I met chairperson of South Gujarat chamber of commerce to comprehend the most dynamic state in India in industrial participation from domestic and international level. And I met ex-secretary general of Rajya Sabha (Upper-house), Parliament of India to know a political scenario in India and ex-minister of Nepal who is one of the members to make constitution and professor in Birgunj, Nepal to know contemporary history, political and economic issue of Nepal.

Just before coming back to Korea, I got to know several reference books to get deep knowledge about South Asia. Without the help of HUFS, I may not get an opportunity to get all these experience. To close this report, I personally appreciate Professor Kim Chanwhan and HUFS to give an opportunity.
