2014학년도 전기 입학식 환영사

 

최현영 수료자 (2013학년도 후기, 22기)

 

I’d like to extend a warm welcome to all of you. It’s a great honor to give a speech in front of the faculty and all of you.

 

Now I come to think of it, my experience at TESOL certificate program was all about relationship-relationship with learning itself, professors and classmates.

 

First of all, I hope you enjoy learning itself. I’m not going to say all the classes are easy. They are challenging. All the classes are given in English and you’ll have a lot of reading assignment and homework. So, you are going to have to work hard. At a certain point, you might think, ‘What’s with all the theory things? What’s the point?’ But, what you learn here will be the solid foundation for your future teaching practice. Enjoy learning itself and just try your best.

 

Second, let me talk about the relationship with professors. All the professors have special knowledge and abundant experience in the English education field. They have exactly what you need. And they are supportive and willing to help you. So, don’t be shy and ask them whatever you want to know. You must be always welcome.

 

Last of all, I enjoyed friendship with classmates. We helped out each other off-line and online as well. In particular, when you work on the group project, teamwork is very important. We used ‘Naver band’ to share a lot of information such as good materials about English education and job information and lots of chatting, too. We still keep in touch. Be a good friend to your classmates. Then, you can fully enjoy this program. Keep that in mind!
