Dear students,

 

Great opportunities to enjoy experience real Korea await you this summer.

Since some field trips will be offered as a co-curricular activity, you are encouraged to participate in every trip we have prepared.

 

Please note that field trip expenses  such as lodging, transportation and lunch will be provided to international participants at no cost

 

 

Hyundai Motor Company & Boryeong Mud Festival (overnight stay)

 

Hyundai Motor Co. is Korea's biggest automaker, with three factories in Korea and other factories in the United States, China, India, Turkey and the Czech Republic. The Asan plant is one of Hyundai's most advanced, with highly automated production. We will get a briefing on the plant's activity and learn how cars are assembled, then see the production line. From Asan we will go to the Boryeong Mud Festival at Daecheon Beach. We will stay in the HUFS resort for the night.

The Korean Folk Village & Everland

 

The Korean Folk Village is home to numerous collections of Korean cultural artifacts, providing an opportunity for Korean children to experience and learn the culture of their ancestors firsthand. The siteprovides a venue to promote traditional Korean culture to both domestic and international visitors, and provides an open-air learning place for succeeding generations. The village has been developed to convey the wisdom and the spirits of our ancestors to both domestic and international tourists.

 

The Everland is one of the major four theme parks in the world and it's located very near from the folk village.

Damyang & Gwangju TOUR (overnight stay)

 

Experience the Yangban culture of the Chosun Dynasty and the history of Korea's Democracy Movement!!

 

■ Destination : Damyang & Gwangju, Jeonlanam-do

■ Docent Professors : Norman Thorpe, Werner Sasse

■ Date: July 29 - 30, 2011

 

 

DMZ TOUR

 

We will visit the Border between North & South Korea at the 38th parallel, look across the DMZ to see North Korea and walk in a tunnel dug by North Koreans to penetrate into South Korea.

 

■ Destination : Yeoncheon-gun, Kyonggi-do & Cheolwon-gun, Kangwondo
