Su-Yeon, Hong
I served as an intern at the Embassy of
Republic of Korea in Costa
Rica from July 1st 2009 to August
6th 2009. Despite of a short period of time, I experienced of
external relations and various diplomatic activities. I fundamentally learned
how to control administrative works. One of the
projects I was responsible for was an expert seminar between Costa Rica and
Republic of Korea with the invitation of Costa Rican government. It was a
grateful experience to get involved in the task that Korea as a leader in e-learning industry
introduced and shared expertise to Costa Rica. I helped Korean delegates
most of the time with my colleague, Yu-Na, Choi during the conference. I also
contacted each responsible staff to assist presentations efficiently, and
interpreted them occasionally. I could successfully fulfill my duty as a
rewarding experience. Besides, to
translate the legal documents of diplomatic agendas helped me take a glimpse of
how external affairs are dealt with at the international level. On top of that,
I assisted to plan Korean cultural activities such as film festival;
investigating locations, creating a movie list, and studying local understanding
of Korean films. All of these valuable experiences were possible because there
were full of great coworkers and superiors to take a good care of me and believe
in me.
I
am appreciative of the opportunity, indeed.
