Report on internship: Intern at Arirang TV

I interned at the News Team at Arirang TV from July 30th 2008 to August 13^th 2008, an English-speaking broadcast station in Korea. Before I went to Costa Rica, I thought it would be great if I have an experience which relate to my major. Most of time, I was fortunate enough to assist a Korean journalist, Young-Won, Kim. I had a great opportunity to participate in covering several pieces of news coverage. The most memorable time of this experience was to cover Korean comfort women issue. I could fully engage at all levels from planning and interviewing to editing. I was surprised that it took lots of preparation and time to release 3-minute-long news.

Arirang TV produces not only news shows but also programs on social/international affairs. I could also learn an editing is a sophisticated and long process to find accurate moments to capture the point.

Working at Arirang TV, in general, provided me with a good understanding of many aspects which relate to media as I expected and I am appreciative of the opportunity.
