I remember I had the same concern at that time as the one you have at this moment. Even though I majored in English Education and had some teaching experience, I got lost as an English teacher. Once I found HUFS TESOL program, I decided to study first rather than start a teaching job. As gathering more information about TESOL on the internet and reading some reviews, I realized that studying TESOL at HUFS will not be easy at all. In spite of that, I applied to the program and had a nice interview with professors. I was looking forward to March and an unexpected situation was waiting for me. It was COVID-19. Because of the unprecedented pandemic situation, the semester was delayed a few weeks later and everything was changed into online mode. Since I already applied to 2+4+1 online course, it was okay except TELS class. All students were supposed to take the TELS class offline to practice four kinds of teaching skills and share different ideas face to face. We could not help but stick to the online mode until microteaching. But thanks to the efforts of the professor, we could take the course without problems.

If you are still hesitating to apply to the TESOL Certificate Program, here are some pieces of advice for you. First, you should be ready for the endless assignment during the whole semester. While studying, you should use your time and efforts wisely to take care of all of the assignments. I was worried about the amount of assignments at first. However, if you keep following schedule on time, you will get used to it. Second, don’t worry. You are not alone. You are going to meet your classmates studying and working together to accomplish the TESOL course. Last but not least, it is going to be not easy but it will be worth it! The HUFS TESOL certificate program was a good chance to learn different kinds of teaching skills and techniques from the best faculty and develop myself as a better English teacher through microteaching and practicum. At the end of the course, you will see how much you can practically apply you have learned and experienced in your future classrooms.
