• After the Framework Act on the National Language has been activated since 2006, ordinary people who do not major in Korean language can also get degrees of Level 3 Korean Teaching when they complete the course in Korean Language Education, consisted of 120 hours, and pass the Korean Language Teaching Proficiency Test.

• Since its establishment in 1974, the Korean Language Education Department has established itself as the world's best Korean language teacher training institute Also, since 2004, KFL has been run as the special course by Graduate of Education.

• KFL course of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies is a specialized education course established in accordance with the Framework Act on the National Language. Among Korean language teacher training courses, it is the only one that proceeds custom classes(pronunciation education theory, error analysis) for teaching English-speaking learners, Chinese-learners, and Japanese-learners. Since 2010, to provide students with more complete and systematic theoretical backgrounds, regardless of the applying major, students are allowed take classes regarding other language-speaking learners.

• We provide not only strict theoretical education about overall Korean language education, but also custom classes subdivided into teaching English-speaking learners, Chinese-speaking learners, and Japanese-speaking learners, so students can learn characteristics and know-hows of teaching Korean language to each group of language-speaking learners.

• CKLC has prepared and operated a variety of subjects such as linguistics, Korean language, and Korean language education, as prescribed by the Basic Law of the Korean Language, in order to prepare for the Korean Language Proficiency Test. We also provide practical training opportunities they can teach foreigners.

Conditions for Completion

• In accordance with regulations of the National Institute of Korean Language, students must complete more than 20 hours of Practical Training. When absent in Practical Training classes, students cannot acquire conditions for completion.
• Passing comprehensive examination
    ※ When students satisfy conditions for completion, they will be presented with Certificates of Completion, under names of the president of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and the director(dean) of the Center for Korean Language and Culture.
