윤원주 교수는 2014년 텍사스A&M 대학교에서 마케팅 (마케팅전략, 계량마케팅) 전공으로 경영학 박사학위를 받은 후 5년간 미국 미시간주 오클랜드대학교 경영대학에서 조교수로 재직했다. 2019 1학기부터 한국외국어대학교 경영대학, 경영대학원 마케팅 전공 교수로 재직 중이다. 주 연구분야는 마케팅전략, 위기관리, 신제품개발 및 혁신, 헬스, 서비스 마케팅 등이며 관련된 연구들을 Journal of Marketing, Marketing Letters, Marketing Science Institute Working Paper Series, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services 등 국제학술지에 출판하였으며, 마케팅관리, 신제품개발론, 조사방법론 등의 수업을 정기적으로 열고 있다.
