Article 1 (PURPOSE) Purpose of this REGULATION is to provide regulations of the Graduate School regarding thesis. Article 2 (THESIS DRAFT)
1. Student must complete a thesis draft by the prescribed deadline.
(three copies for Master's thesis, five copies for Doctoral thesis)
2. Thesis draft must be formatted according to the following standards
A. Thesis draft must be written in Korean or other language, and must be written horizontally.
B. Quality and size of paper must meat the requirements designated by the Academic Affairs Office of Graduate School. Article 3 (PRINT OF THESIS)
1. Format: Print in Korean or other language, and must be written horizontally.
2. Paper Size: 19 cm X 26 cm (4X6)
3. Paper: White vellum paper
4. Page Layout: 14 cm X 19.5 cm
5. Printing Method
A. Film print or master print (Print using PC is acceptable)
B. Text must be printed horizontally except the back of the cover page.
C. Print on both sides (print on one side if the quantity is small), use a specified font unless in special circumstances,
and refer to the annexed forms for size and style of font.
6. Page Limit: No limit Article 4 (STRUCTURE OF THESIS) The regulations of thesis structure are as follows:
1. Cover (Form 5)
A. Binding must be hardcovered.
B. Color of cover must be printed in dark blue for Master's thesis and in gilt black for Doctoral thesis.
C. Title of thesis must be written in Korean (use both Korean and Chinese character) or major language.
D. If the title of thesis exceeds one line, the last line must be aligned in the center.
E. If there is a subtitle, the subtitle must be centered and put under the title.
F. Name of school, name of graduate school, major, name of applicant must be written in Korean or Chinese character.

4. Statement of Approval (Form 8 & 9)

5. Preface or Acknowledgement
Thesis submitter can write preface or acknowledgement if he or she wants to express one's gratitude to the advising
professor and a specific person or group. This can be omitted.
6. Table of Contents
Use I-A-(1)-a
7. Tables and Graphs
Put serial number and write names. e.g.) Table1, Table2, Graph1, Graph2
8. Main Text (Form 2)
A. Main text must be written in 34 characters X 22 lines.
B. Outline of main text must be 14 cm X 19.5 cm.
C. Page numbers must be located at the bottom center of each page.
D. Main text includes the following:
Introduction
Body
Conclusion
E. Footnotes (Form 3) must be written at the bottom of the page and numbered sequentially in Arabic numerals.
9. Bibliography
References used for thesis must be sorted by domestic source and international source, and the name of authors should
be in alphabetical order.
10. Appendix and Index (if any)
11. Abstract (Form 4)
Abstract should be approximately five pages long and attached. If the main text of thesis is in Korean, write in English.
If the main text of thesis is in a language other than Korean, write in Korean.
12. Thesis must contain following items in the following order.

Article 5 (CITATION GUIDE)
1. Citation must meat following order.
A. Names of authors and editors
Names of non-Korean authors should be written as John S. Watson (or J. S. Watson). If the thesis is in the field
of humanities, sociology, or science, names of non-Korean authors must be written as Watson, John S. After the name
of editors, write (ed).
B. Name of book
Underline the name of a book. (In the case of type printing, italicize the name)
C. Name of translator
If the book is translated, write translator's name after the name of the book: trans. Wibur L Cross.
D. Publication Information
Write the following information in brackets. (1), (2), and (3) are included only when necessary.
