Received its charter as a graduate school, the Department of English (24 students), the Department of French (8 students), and the Department of German (8 students) in master’s program are established.

The first semester begins. Dr. Wan-Bok Choi, the dean of the HUFS university, is also appointed as the dean of the HUFS Graduate School.

Permission is granted to increase the number of its students in the following master’s program:
The Department of English: from 24 to 36
The Department of French: from 8 to 12
The Department of German: from 8 to 12

Dr. Sool-Eum Park is appointed as the dean of the HUFS Graduate School.

With permission to change school regulations, the Department of English (10 students), the Department of French (10 students), and the Department of German (10 students)for doctoral students are established.

With permission to change school regulations, the HUFS Graduate School is the first to offer Area Studies for master’s and doctoral students.
Master’s program (3 Departments): The Department of Asian Area Studies (7 students), The Department of Latin American Area Studies (7 students) , The Department of Middle East Area Studies (7 students)
Doctoral program (1 Department): Department of International Affairs Studies
