Welcome to the Center for Korean Language and Culture at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.

With over fifty years of experience in foreign language education, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies has built a reputation as one of Korea's leading universities. Based upon this experience, in 1992 we established a Korean language program designed for foreigners and Koreans from abroad. We have educated students from eighteen different countries. HUFS offers exemplary preparation through the Department of Korean Language Education in the Undergraduate School, the Korean Language and Literature major of the Graduate School, and the Teaching Korean as a Second/Foreign Language department of the Graduate School of Education so that our graduates can become effective teachers of Korean as a Second/Foreign Language. With our talented graduates and 50 years of experience in international education, HUFS continues to contribute to the improvement of the quality of Korean language education. Furthermore, the Korean Language Education Program at HUFS focuses on enhancing practical communication skills and has acquired a high reputation among students. HUFS established the Center for Korean Language and Culture in 2006 as an independent Korean educational institution by expanding and reorganizing the previous Korean education program that was affiliated with the Center of Foreign Language Studies, in order to provide more learners with an even higher quality of education. The Center for Korean Language and Culture will strive to provide higher levels of Korean language education by using the established Korean education infrastructure of HUFS. We invite you to join us in a pleasurable learning experience at the Center for Korean Language and Culture. Thank you very much.
