01/ Overview

Cultivate interpretation and translation ability of native language and Korean based on skillful Korean communication ability. In order to do this, we will study Korean language and Korean culture in depth and conduct interpretation and translation work by language.

02/ Purpose

Enhance your Korean ability and cultivate interpretation and translation skills

03/ Qualification

- Those who have completed Level 5 or above in Korean language education institutions of universities in Korea

- Foreigners who obtain TOPIK level 6 withinthe validity period

- Those who have passed the <pre-interview test> after the application.

*Only those who have passed the pre-interview and written test can take the Korean Interpretation and Translation Course.

*Instructions for the written test and pre-interview will be sent via email.

04/ Periods & Time

- 2 semesters (6 months)[Korean Interpretation and Translation Course I, Korean Interpretation and Translation Course II] / Total 20 weeks- 4 hours per day (13:30~17:20) / 5 days per week (Mon~Fri)

- Korean Interpretation and Translation Course I (Spring/Fall),Korean Interpretation and Translation Course II (Summer/Winter)

※Course I and Course II differ only in content, such as topics. You don't have to take them in order.

1) Contents & Aims of Korean Language

Develping Korean Language

- Students will learn advanced vocabulary and expressions and advanced grammar in accordance with the subject of academic content in terms of interpretation and translation.

- Students can improve Korean interpretation and translationability by correcting Korean errors and learning Korean expressions appropriate to the situation

Media Korean

- Using a variety of media materials (news, newspapers, drama, movies, advertisements, etc.), students get an overall understanding of Korean society and the ability to use Korean.

Practicing Korean Sentence

- It provides training for writing competency at an advanced level

2) Contents & Aims of Koren Interpretation and Translating

Basic theory of Korean Interpretation and Translating

- Students understand the theory and contents of interpretation and translation  that should be basically understood in order to perform actual interpretation and translation tasks.- Based on the understanding of basic interpretation and translation theory, students will learn concrete execution strategies that can be used in actual interpretation and translation field.

Practical training for interpretation & translation

- Students can get the basic understanding of Korean interpretation and translation from their own native language to Korean.- Students can acquire how to translate and interpret through the actual practice of correctly understanding and communicating the original text.
