The Institute was originally founded in February 1986 under the name of the Institute for Management Information Systems (MIS) to seek more rational solutions for management issues faced by businesses through research and analysis and to contribute to society by realizing advancement of management studies.
It publishes the Business Management Research and MIS Research semi-annually. Its name was revised to the Institute of Business Research in 1997, The Institute actively initiates industrial/academic collaboration, dedicates its efforts to develop practical research competency through studies and development of advanced management techniques enabled by industrial/academic collaboration, and strives to contribute to the growth of the national economy.
