It was dedicated to the shared goals of providing interpreting and translation services of impeccable quality and conducting research into interpreting and translation studies. In August 2001, its research functions were transferred to a sister organization, the Interpreting and Translation Research Institute (ITRI). Five years later, in August 2006, the CIT was reorganized under the umbrella of the university’s Foreign Language Business Division, together with i-Hankuk Uiversity of Foreign Studies and the Korean Language & Culture Education Institute.

Featuring professional interpreters and translators trained at the nation’s leading school of interpretation and translation, the CIT provides services to wide range of government agencies, private enterprises and individual clients.
