To ensure complete satisfaction with the quality of our interpreting and translation, the Center for Interpreting and Translation (CIT) contracts only professionals trained by the Graduate School of Interpreting and Translation (GSIT) of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, the top school in South Korea for translation and a member of CIUTI (the old¬est and most pres¬ti¬gious inter¬na¬tional asso¬ci¬a¬tion of uni¬ver-sity insti¬tutes featuring trans¬la¬tion and inter¬pre¬ta¬tion pro¬grams). All our members have successfully completed two to three years of rigorous training at the HUFS GSIT, depending on their language combination, and have passed the stringent tests required for graduation. Many of our partner professionals enjoy over 15 years of work experience and are currently instructors at the school.

Our interpreters and translators translate to and from Korean and one or two of the eight languages taught at the GSIT: English, Chinese, Japanese, French, Spanish, German, Arabic and Russian. International news simultaneously interpreted by our professionals and broadcast live has raised public awareness of our center and our services, such as news coverage on the conflicts in the Persian Gulf and the September 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. Professionals from our center have interpreted at a great number of additional high-profile events held on the national level, including the 1988 Seoul Olympics, the Summit Council for World Peace, the 97th Inter- Parliamentary Union General Conference in Seoul, the ASEM Summit, and the 2002 Korea-Japan FIFA World Cup.
